Father’s Day is a chance to show dear, old Dad, as well as all of the other important men in your life, how much you appreciate all of the wonderful things they do for you throughout the year. However, it can be hard to continue to think of something creative year after year! Not to mention, Father’s Day is just around the corner, but have no fear! Listed below are ten unique and affordable gift ideas that are sure to bring a smile to their faces this Father’s Day.
1. Round of Golf
Pair a round of Golf with a Gift Card to the clubhouse or better yet, with you! Spend time together soaking up some sunshine and relaxing on the greens. Golf, not your thing? Work as a personal caddy for the day, providing drinks and driving the cart. Either way you “swing it,” he will appreciate spending some quality time with you for Father’s Day!
2. Coffee Shop Gift Cards
I actually used this idea for a birthday gift for my boyfriend one year and it was a HUGE hit! Unfortunately for our bank accounts, we are avid coffee drinkers so for his birthday I got him 10, $5 gift cards to different coffee shops in Minneapolis. This would also make a great Father’s Day gift for a coffee connoisseur, plus it’s fun to try new coffee shops and switch things up once in a while!
3. Car Wash and Detail Service
Pretty standard, but I just love this idea for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. To me, getting your car washed and detailed is such a chore that I don’t do it nearly as often as I probably should. Not to mention, getting a nice detailing instead of just the standard can cost a pretty penny. I have personally done this for each of my parents in the past and they are big fans, five-star reviews from each of them!
4. Kan Jam or Kubb Yard Game
If you have not had the chance to play either of these games, I would highly suggest either one or both of them for a Father’s Day gift. They are both super fun to play at any family gettogether or hang out, especially Kubb because you can have several players on each team. Each game will bring enjoyment for the entire family for years to come! Both Kubb and Kan Jam can be purchased online at Amazon.
5. Corn Hole Set
A classic yard game, a custom corn hole set is a great gift option for Father’s Day. There are tons of cool options for custom sets on Etsy. They are able to custom boards with different team logos, states, names, etc. A cheaper route would be to just purchase a standard set online from any major retailer or Amazon. I mean, who doesn’t like playing bags in the back yard on a nice summer day?
6. Plan a “Date with Dad”
This idea is rather sweet but does take more planning than the other options on this list. First, you will need to decide if you want to make the Dad Date a surprise or let him in on the date plans. Some fun ideas would be to go to an old school arcade that may have some of the old video games he played as a kid or take him to do an activity he enjoys such as fishing, beer tasting, etc. The point is to take some time to create a day that he will enjoy spending with one of his favorite people on the planet, *cough* you *cough* 🙂
7. Craft Beer Selection
This is a fun idea for the Dad that enjoys a good craft beer. A lot of liquor stores or breweries will allow customers to hand select individual beers. This way you are able to sample a lot of different craft beers without having to buy cases of them. Create a Father’s Day tasting with a bunch of new beers for Dad to sample! In the past when I helped someone with this Father’s Day gift we used empty cardboard beer carriers, but if you want something nicer, I know that beer crates are available online at both Etsy and Amazon.
8. Socks
I am a big fan of funky socks. It honestly shocks me that Rob Kardashian’s sock company wasn’t a big hit. Regardless, a pair of funky business socks are always a fun idea for a Father’s Day gift. Pick out a pair of socks that speaks to their personality or reminds you of an inside joke between the two of you. I just typed “funny business socks” into the search bar at Amazon and it generated over 1,000 search results. Below is a picture of a set of Pizza socks available at Amazon. Best part? Socks are an affordable gift while still being thoughtful.
9. Mow the Lawn/Yardwork
Personally, I am a big fan of gifts. I like giving them more than getting them, but I like the latter too. Some people, however, are not big fans of receiving gifts and may be a more “acts of service” kind of person. Hence, taking over mowing the lawn and/or doing the yardwork may be a better gift than anything tangible.
10. Scratch Offs
One of my back burner gifts for any occasion is always scratch-off tickets. Graduation? Check. Birthday? Check. Anniversary? Check. Father’s Day? You bet. A fun way to add a little something extra to a heartfelt card! Plus, who knows you may get a little kickback if they pull a big WINNER!
